Company History

Family Owned Since 1965

Southside Tire is a family owned independent tire dealer with our home office based in Antigo, Wisconsin. The Herb Husnick family has been partners and (late 1992) owners of Southside Tire since its beginnings in 1965. We have been a franchised dealer for the Bandag Retreading System for more than 50 years.

In 2000, Southside Tire expanded it’s market into the Fond du Lac, WI area and south by purchasing the company’s second retread manufacturing facility.

In 2004, Herb Husnick retired and passed the torch on to his sons Tim and Craig.

In 2016, Southside officially partnered with Royal Tire to form TSS of Wisconsin in the La Crosse, WI market. Royal based out of St Cloud, MN is a dealer who is renowned for their focus on providing the best tire related services in the markets in which they are located.

In 2022, Southside Tire came to an agreement to acquire a partner dealer in the form of Garrett Tire & Treads in Nebraska. Garrett, like Southside, has long been known as the top tire service provider in all of their markets. With this merger, the total number of service points has increased to 16, while the number of retread plants has grown to 3 for the Southside Team.

Today, Southside Tire has 9 locations throughout Wisconsin as well as 7 locations within Nebraska. Southside continues to offer the same quality products and services to their customers as they have for the past 57 years.

Southside Tire will continue to grow in the future at a controlled pace. We are committed to maintaining the personal level of service that we have always offered our customers.
